Frequently asked questions
The most common questions about inohom.cloud and Nova Cloud.
What is inohom.cloud?
inohom.cloud is the cloud-based smart home platform developed by inohom Smart Home Systems. By connecting your smart home panel to the cloud, it lets you securely control your devices from anywhere with an internet connection and monitor their status.
How do I reach my panel while I am away from home?
Once your smart home panel is added to your Nova Cloud account, you can reach it from anywhere with an internet connection. Use the inohom mobile app to monitor and control your devices; the web interface is for panel authorization and account settings. Both work with the same Cloud account credentials. If you get stuck during setup, our 24/7 technical support team is available to help.
How do I get started with inohom.cloud?
First you create an account in the Nova Cloud web interface with your first name, last name, phone number, e-mail address and password. Then, on your smart home panel, you open Settings > Cloud and sign in with the same Cloud account details to add the panel to your account. Once added, the panel is listed on the Connected Devices page.
What rules must a Nova Cloud password follow?
A Nova Cloud password must be at least 8 characters long and contain uppercase letters, lowercase letters and a digit. You can update your password later in the Cloud web interface from the Change Password option on the User > Profile Settings page.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. You can download the inohom mobile app from the App Store and Google Play and reach your smart home panel from your phone as well. The mobile app uses the same credentials as your Cloud account.
Can several people in my family use the same panel?
Yes. Whoever adds the panel to their account is the panel administrator and can authorize other Nova Cloud accounts using the Add User option on the Panel Management page. The authorized person must approve the device activation e-mail sent to their inbox; until they do, they cannot access the panel.
How long does it take for a revoked user authorization to take effect?
On smart home panel version 1.31.0 and later, when a user’s authorization is revoked in the Cloud interface, active connections are terminated automatically within 30 minutes and the account is removed from the panel. You can restart the panel to speed this up. Only the Cloud account that owns the panel can perform the deletion.
If my panel fails, can I move my users to a new panel?
Yes. The User Copying feature on the Connected Devices page exists for exactly this case. You select the panel you have lost access to as the source panel and your new panel as the target panel; approval e-mails are then sent to the users you selected. A maximum of 10 e-mail addresses can be authorized at once, and users with unverified e-mail addresses do not appear in the list.
Can I disable the Cloud connection temporarily?
Yes. On the smart home panel, open Settings > Cloud, tap the Sign Out button and sign out without selecting the “delete my data” option: the connection is then disabled temporarily. All cloud access is removed from the panel, while your membership, panel and authorization records are kept on the Cloud side. The panel must be restarted after signing out.
How do I delete my data permanently?
If you select “Delete all my data” during the Sign Out step in Settings > Cloud on the panel, all of your data on the smart home panel and in the Nova Cloud environment is permanently deleted. This operation cannot be undone, so consider it carefully before proceeding.
Is my data safe?
Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure and the systems are kept continuously available. The panel can only be accessed by Nova Cloud accounts that the panel owner has authorized and whose e-mail addresses have been verified; only the administrator account can perform authorization and deletion operations.
